I Dislike Lazy People at Work: Why They’re Holding Us Back

It’s a common frustration: you’re working hard, putting in long hours, and making sure that you’re getting everything done on time. Meanwhile, there are others in the office who seem to be coasting by, doing just enough to get by, and constantly finding ways to pass work off to someone else.

These “lazy” coworkers can be frustrating and demotivating, and their actions can have a negative impact on the rest of the team. Here are just a few of the ways that these individuals can hold us back at work:

  1. Reduced Productivity: When lazy coworkers aren’t pulling their weight, it puts a strain on the rest of the team. Everyone else has to work harder to pick up the slack, and the overall productivity of the team can suffer as a result.
  2. Missed Deadlines: When someone doesn’t take ownership of a task or is always handing it off to others, it can be difficult to get things done on time. The result is often missed deadlines, which can have a ripple effect on other projects and workloads.
  3. Poor Work Quality: When someone is just doing the bare minimum to get by, the quality of their work is often subpar. This can lead to mistakes and issues that need to be corrected later on, adding more work and stress to the rest of the team.
  4. Decreased Morale: Let’s face it, it’s frustrating to work with someone who is always looking for ways to pass work off to others. This can lead to decreased morale and a negative work environment, which can be demotivating and harmful to the team as a whole.

In conclusion, lazy coworkers can be a major obstacle to success at work. It’s important to identify these individuals and work to address the issue, whether that means having a conversation with them, setting clear expectations, or finding ways to hold them accountable for their actions. By working together, we can create a positive, productive work environment where everyone is pulling their weight and contributing to the success of the team.

Huawei P10 Lite

So after 3 Years or so of running purely on Apple Devices I have made the switch back to Android. And let me tell you soo far soo good.

I wont lie there are a few things that are just not the same as on iOS but for the most part
coming back to Android has been like coming home after a long trip….. One where the end was almost always in site but just beyond reach.

I have made the switch back by getting myself a Huawei P10 Lite

I am going to be checking all the latest and greatest apps that I personally would need and leaving some feedback on them as I go along.

New Site on the Go

At the moment I am spending some more time on getting Buddypress up and running with the intention of getting a community site up and running. So far I have got the basics ready.

Buddy Press Site

Have managed to set it up so that you can only view certain pages (Groups/Members Etc) if you are a registered user that is logged in. I am having some issues with getting Invites/Join Codes working as this is how I want the site to be running. If you don’t get an invite then obviously we don’t want you around Smilie: ;)

There are a lot of plugins to help customise the site that can be found HERE.
However it looks to me that a lot of the “cooler” plugins I would want to use have not been worked on in over 2 years. This is a problem for me going forward as I don’t have the know how of how to create/edit plugins.

I’d like the site to have similar functionality to Facebook, so basically there is a timeline, then you have Members, Friends, Groups and Activity. There is also Forum integration using bbPress which I have installed but must say  I am not thrilled with the way it looks and works but this is still a work in progress.

I will be working on this over the next couple of weeks with a nice long break at the end of the year when I take a well deserved holiday from all things work……

Update

So yet again its been an awful long time since I posted anything and this is because I have been super super busy at work and running my business. Sometimes they just creep up on me and I find that every waking hour is spent on work, admin, billing, client support sigh

Not much time have I had for me or my lady the last couple of weeks but i’ve managed to catch up a bit on most things and now have made sure that I will be spending a lot more time offline and not working, hanging out with My Lady and doing awesome outdoor things instead of being cooped up inside just sitting in front of my pcs are constantly watching TV. Weather is not really good for much these days as its always bloody freezing so I am looking well forward to summer coming along and saving this poor cold soul of me.

Also I have put aside some time to really get into WordPress. Lately I have had a few clients contact me because their sites have been “hacked” and their web developers/designers seem to have no idea why and are intent on blaming the host for their mistakes. So I have spent a bit of time researching and learning simple things to do for your wordpress site in order to stop this from happening. To start you off check out this post on Hardening WordPress

Well enough time in front of the PC for now…… Time to try a cup of Chai and get warm.
